Consult Zwanzeigers

What I learned today: Techie Stuff.

"Don't eat the fish."

I have realized that I'm doing this
all wrong.
Okay, so no one teaches me sound tech stuff! But I figured out why my recordings suck so bad.

  1. I need to remember not to move the cables or anything while they're plugged in.
  2. ...and stop ad-libbing and skatting to fill in time while singing, if I sing.
  3. ...AND use a compressor, when necessary.
  4. But usually I have to use an expander instead. (I mean hey, I always thought I had a big mouth, but I guess the levelers tell all?)
  5. I need to make everything really quiet afterward.
  6. And then remix it.
  7. AND MAKE IT LOUDER!!! *happy dance*
  8. And... I need to stop overdosing on the noise reducers on Samplitude. Yes, they're cool. But they put annoying popping noises in the tracks if you use them too much. Besides, nothing's ever completely fuzz-free.
So. There it is.

Oh also, new self-evaluation rule: if your own father thinks it's a shiznetty recording, it's probably a shiznetty recording. Even if he knows nothing about music.

SO! Happier notes...

I wrote more on my apocalyptic novel!
*tear, sob*
And I killed Artemis.

Okay, so those of you who don't know me (and some of you who do) are probably wondering why I said that, who Artemis is, and if you are a respectability, why didn't you just entertain the inconstancy?
I shall explain....

Artemis is the ex-boyfriend of the heroine of the story, euthanized by the Institution because he had come in contact with the superbug. *sad face* But the heroine, Nisa, stays alive.... I suppose it wouldn't be too great to kill her off in the first few chapters. >.< Mleh.

But let's not give too much away here. I still have more to write.

I need to call Stevo and Keffi. They need to come over Sunday. We need to practice.... -_-

Farewell!
><)))>
